The MaMoNouchies collection was brought to life by Ingo Maurer and Dagmar Mombach.
The name derives from the first two letters of Maurer's and Mombach's last names, paired with Nouchies, paying homage to Isamu Noguchi, whose designed the iconic Akari paper shades.
The individual pieces are named after ancient tribal spirits from all over the world.

Mombach invented the unique patented process inspired by ancient Japanese tradition. It involves the manipulation of plain sheets of paper, by pulling and folding.
